Bringing traffic to your site through article directories

Websites + Traffic + Ads/Products = Money. Each veteran internet market webmaster and blogger would certainly agree to this simple equation. Following this simple equation is all it takes to make money online.
Now that you have decided to take the challenge of making your presence online felt or that you now decided to join the blogging bandwagon, the problem you have to face now is how to bring the traffic in. There are thousands of ways to do this as there are a thousand ways to kill a cat. Some of them may cost you money, while others are entirely free.
It is quite obvious that most of us would want to bring in traffic for free. But how do you do it ?One way to do it is to write valuable articles for free. Submitting articles to free directories helps propel you to fame all over the internet. Add to the fact that others who have a website will use your free article by placing it in their blog or sites. This way you get free advertisement as these sites allows you to post your authors biography. Plus you get a back link to your site. After several weeks or months, these backward links will eventually increase, helping your site attain a much higher ranking.
However take note that not all backward links to your site are valuable. Most search engines give a higher value for links to your site if the content is somehow related to your site or blog. This method of writing free valuable articles is so much better in promoting your site than resorting to random link exchange programs or other methods since most likely web masters or bloggers will feature articles are somewhat related to their site also.
My blog is less than 3 months old as of the time the writing of this article but I have submitted more than a dozen articles already to different article hubs. That is why I got a Google page rank of 2 (P.R - 2) even if my site is only less than 3 months old. Some sites have been there for more than year yet they barely make it to P.R - 1. What is worse is that other sites are still at P.R - 0.
This method however is time consuming. Your patience will surely be tested as you have to manually submit your articles to several free article directories. But take heart because in the end what you are doing will certainly bear fruit.
